contact me - but first, get to know me…
Being photographed can be vulnerable and awkward. There’s a natural energy flow between a photographer and a subject and when the fit is right, it can feel empowering and magical. I suggest, getting a better sense of who I am and what I’m about - I know once you do, you’ll be more confident putting your trust in me.
HOW I WORK
I am both a photographer and a master’s level social worker. That means I don’t just notice light—I notice people. I notice emotion, body language, the things we try to hide and the things we wish someone would witness. Asha Studio grew from that place.
I have BHE (Big Hummingbird Energy™) - a lightness of being that is joyful and playful with an edge of determination. I am also an adoptee - an aspect of my identity that I’m proud of and is a central driver of my art.
What is it like working with me?
You’ll feel seen and heard, with space to be yourself
Sessions are creative, guided, and intentional
Energy is calm, playful, joyful, and attuned
I’m not a therapist, but my training, personality, and approach often make sessions feel restorative and deeply human. If that’s your vibe, you’ll love working with me.
Portrait offerings include the optional pairing of a reflective experience to express your story.
Things that bring me joy
Soft pants (iykyk), a good thrift haul, singing (solo or in groups), poetry, sunrise, my boys (4 of them - husband, children, doggo), 1:1 long coffee dates, meticulous, detail oriented projects, noodles, anything with cardamom, chai + matcha, Crossfit, and helping people express themselves creatively.
My approach and philosophy
I want my images to feel like memory and affirmation, like proof that you were here and you mattered. Whether I'm photographing a person, a brand, or a flower at golden hour, I’m chasing the same thing: a moment that feels like recognition.
That’s why I primarily photograph on medium format or 35mm film. I’m an old soul who’s always liked doing this a little differently, a little more slowly, and with just enough risk to make the reward really satisfying.
My middle name, Asha, means “hope” in Hindi. I feel deeply connected to hope as a discipline, a practice, and a way of being that I carry with me as a mother, adoptee, and intentional community member. Asha Studio is a reflection of that: a rebirth into a fuller version of myself that honors abundance, strength, joy, and the beauty of the stories we carry within us.
Fine art portraiture that goes beyond the image
Asha Studio crafts portraits that are personal treasures, cultural statements, and vessels for your story. Each image blends artistry, self-reflection, and narrative — creating work that is as emotionally resonant as it is visually timeless.
I can't wait to work with you!
