ABOUT

Hi I’m Andrea - the photographer behind Asha Studio.

Identity Portraits™ are a deeply personal photographic experience created to honor the nuance of personal story and identity — the parts of ourselves that are often lived quietly, without much space to be seen.

My work lives at the intersection of the internal and the external. Through thoughtful collaboration, symbolism, and portraiture, I create images that reflect not just how you look, but who you’ve become. These portraits hold the journey of where you’ve been, what you’ve carried, and the person you are choosing to stand as now.

This experience is not about vanity. It’s about witnessing. About allowing yourself to be seen (by me, and by yourself) with care, dignity, and pride. Many clients describe it as a meaningful act of self-recognition: a moment to honor their complexity, resilience, and growth.

If you’ve done work in therapy, reflection, or personal healing, you may recognize the power of gently acknowledging all the parts of yourself that helped you arrive here. Identity Portraits offer a visual reflection of that process. An image you can return to as a reminder of who you are, and who you are committed to being.

Because being seen (truly seen) has the power to shape how we move forward.

Clients often describe me as warm, fun, intentional, thoughtful, and deeply passionate about the work I do and the reasons I do it.

”A true gift of Andrea’s is to make people feel comfortable - and the way she works with light is magic.”

- Erin Johnson

“Getting my portraits taken with Andrea was powerful and like nothing I have done before! There is something very healing about being witnessed by another, especially another person with a similar lived experience as an adoptee. I didn't have to explain things to Andrea (unless I felt the need to). I could just show up as me...with my vulnerable and weird parts showing too! I want to do it again for myself AND  with my kids! :)” - Elliott Manago-Lawler
